At the 50th International Emmy Awards held in New York on the 21st, The KingŌĆÖs Affection won the Best Telenovela award, beating out other critically acclaimed projects from China, Spain and Brazil. It was the first win for a Korean series. This historical romance drama revolves around a princess pretending to be a prince. When the crown prince is killed, his twin sister assumes the throne while trying to keep her identity and affection for her first love a royal secret. Park Eun Bin and SF9ŌĆÖs Rowoon starred in the show. The KingŌĆÖs Affection has already proven its cinematic quality by winning Best Writer at the 17th Seoul Drama Awards and Best Actress at the 49th Korean Broadcasting Awards. Lee Kun Joon, head of the KBS Drama Center, shared his joy, ŌĆ£I am very happy that The KingŌĆÖs Affection won the International Emmy Award for the first time as a Korean drama.
