On Tuesday, Key held an online press conference marking the release of his new smash Gasoline. ŌĆ£IŌĆÖve been thinking about Gasoline since I worked on Bad Love,ŌĆØ Key shared. ŌĆ£This album has 11 tracks, and I wanted to show everything without holding anything back. I thought hard about achieving the best effect in the music video as well.ŌĆØ He continued, ŌĆ£I thought that Gasoline was the perfect timing to let people know that ŌĆśIŌĆÖve been doing something for my music.ŌĆÖ I worked on the album with ŌĆśunfeigned humility.‘ŌĆØ Key took part in writing the lyrics for ŌĆ£Gasoline,ŌĆØ the new title song, and compared the way he strived forward to the explosive firepower of gasoline, revealing his overflowing confidence and ambition. ŌĆ£I didnŌĆÖt find any song worthy of a title track until ŌĆśGasoline,‘ŌĆØ he shared. ŌĆ£So I sought after Kenzie and begged her to write me a title song. She told me to join her in writing the lyrics, so I did.ŌĆØ ŌĆ£I was scared at first to write the lyrics for the title track,ŌĆØ he added. ŌĆ£Now, I think the album needs to have an autobiographical story to give life to it. It is certainly necessary to sing a love song written by someone else, but I thought that an autobiographical story was necessary for me to level up.ŌĆØ Key also talked about the ŌĆ£GasolineŌĆØ MV. ŌĆ£I wanted to try something unconventional,ŌĆØ he explained. ŌĆ£I wanted to try a style that SM has never tried before, but IŌĆÖve realized that IŌĆÖm SM to the bone.
